St. Elizabeth's Centre Edgeworthstown
St Elizabeth’s Centre was opened in October 2003 to meet the needs of people requiring medium to high support in the immediate and surrounding area. The Unit endeavours to provide an individualised programme to stimulate and encourage each service user to reach his or her full potential.
The day to day programme changes regularly with choice being an integral part of the units programme. Each service user has an input as to which activity they want to participate in. Activities on offer in the unit include: woodwork, cookery, computers, numeracy/literacy, self-care programmes and sonas sessions for the aging service users.
Over the last eighteen months a horticulture programme has been very successfully implemented, with once lawned gardens now awash with organic vegetables and herbs. We have also established links with other specialists such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, chiropody and speech language therapy thus allowing for a holistic approach to service users needs
